Hoping some one can help regarding finding info. about a person who I think was in the army in 1861. His name is John Gee and another person on Rootschat has found him(possibly him!!) registered at Winchester St. Thomas aged 18 yrs. born Nottingham. The age and birth place tie in with the info. I have and I cannot find him on the 1861 census in Nottingham or Leicester. If this is him I am hoping some one can give me advice on how to trace this person through army records if possible.

Hi Smithy,
Sorry i cant help with this but was wondering if you would have any connection with Annie Gee Potts from Nottingham born about 1833.
Her father was Robert Potts , a draper and lace manufacture from Notringham who left for Australia in the 1850s and had a drapery business in Victoria, Annies mother was Susan Day. Roberts second wife was Mary Ann McIvens.
Look forward to your response.
