Looking for the addresses of my great uncle John Vickery in New York city during the period 1945-1960. These may be in a a phone directory of the period, or similar. I know he had the phone on at these addresses.
John Vickery was an Australian who was both a commercial artist and a painter who worked with the Abstract Expressionists during the late 40s, early 50s.
He had a studio somewhere on Lexington Ave 1945-1948 in same building as a illustrator Sam Savitt. This was a 4 storey walkup building. I would like to know that address.
He was then in Brooklyn ( Brooklyn Heights I think) for next 2 years, until 1949. Again would like that address.
In late 1949 he was at the only address I have, which was 20 West Tenth St until 1956 (with Phiilip Guston). That building was demolished and he was then somewhere downtown until 1960. I would like that address as well. He then moved to Califon, New Jersey. Many thanks .

There is a 1946 Manhattan telephone book here: http://www.evendon.net/PGHLookups/Manhattan1946M.htm However, searches for Vickery and Savitt revealed nothing.

Thank you for looking. An entry may be later - 47/48.

I don't think there are any more recent directories/telephone books for New York City available online currently.

Thanks for the information. I'll have to hope that someone else has access to copies from the later period!
