I believe that my great great grandparents were decendants from ireland,how do i go about tracing their steps from ireland to scotland.I think they came across from around 1851 to 1861.

You could look them up on the census for Scotland.

Owen and susan murphy,also owen and bridget mcquaid.

I found this Owen Murphy on 1861 census he states he's married but no wife listed with him, all the other Owen Murphy's born Ireland are either unmarried or married to wives not named Susan.

1871 census describes him as a pauper so Poor Relief records should give his county and parish of origin in Ireland
