Thanks TreeTotal and Gary much improved......... Thanks. I think it looks good maybe a bit darker than the original. It looks like its' a  "prop" like a rolled up paper or the like Green Sleeves

yes it is a scroll, there is only two reasons why i can think of him have his hand on her shoulder. She was blind or had really bad sight and he was told to position his arm in a natural position and when the picture is about to be taken he could tap her to let her no and the scroll is just a prop or its just another pose. He also seems to be wearing one glove - the one on her shoulder - which is strange

John

sorry if i am being a bit out there.

Would anyone like to put an age on Jane or Tommy. They are both around the same age (within three years Tommy is older). Jane died in 1917 she was 54 but Tommy lived to 1931. Tommy was a brass worker all his life and might explain about his hands. His left hand shows all the signs of hard work. and brass marks the hands and is difficult to clean off.  Interesting about the glove I didnt notice that before and you might be right John.

There is a sad story about Jane,

I have no idea about their ages. Thanks Carol for the rendering and you too Irene
