Hello,
Iam hoping someone may be able to help me please - Iam looking for the burial of JOSEPH PENNIFOLD, his death was registered Apr-May-Jun Q 1916 at Cuckfield, Sussex. He would have been about 75 years old.
If anyone could help me find where he was buried I would be very grateful,
Thanks for your time.

Have you tried contacting the local church nearest to where he lived or the towns crematorium
-
Is there an address on the death certificate?
-
The death certifcate has been ordered. At the moment the last known address for him was on the 1911 census (just 5 years before his death) when he lived on Commercial road, Burgess Hill.
Although I lived in Worthing for a few years, I do not know this area very well so am hoping someone with more knowledge on the area may be able to help me please.
Thanks.

I wonder which ones were there in 1916 and were active in buriels.

Hi,
Just looking at Pennifold burials on the SFHG database, they seem to mainly focus around Cuckfield Holy Trinity and Balcombe St Mary.
Regards
Sean
Edit
Looked in the burial registers on the Cuckfield.gov site but no joy there.

There is quite a large cemetery on the outskirts of Burgess Hill/Hurstpierpoint so it would be worth enquiring when that opened. Surrey and Sussex Crematorium at Worth or one of the Brighton ones might be a possibility too.
