;D ;D
Basically I will be doing the same there as I do on here...IDing photos....
-
I will also be there with the WFA, so will pop by and say hello!
Assuming I get five second free from the rugby scrum that is the Western Front Association stand.... which judging by previous years may not happen! We have been asked just why we are so popular and whether we were giving cake away!
Steve.
-
Bring tea!!! ;D
-
Coffee & cake sounds more in my line HA! HA!
will try to stop & say hello.
I will be on the London Canal Museum stand

Just noticed Nanny Jane's post
WDYTYA as she stated is at Olympia & not Earls court theses are two diffrent venues
& quite a fair walk between the two. also i belive parking has to be booked in advance
-
ooops...me bad....lol
Its all the same...London...
-
Just thought that i would mention it as its an eazy mistake to make for people who dont live in
or know the area. If like myself you will be loaded down with stuff it would be a longish walk or a struggle
on the bus. I will be in the section "Our working past" so if you see me (dressed in the costume of an old working canalboat woman) so not eazy to miss please say hello.
Have a great w/end all.

So...you wont be doing much then as an Idle Woman ;D

That made me smile
Just as a matter of intrest my Grandads sister had Elie Gayford on her boat to train her before she was allowed to
start up her idle women as a pilot scheme with the GUCCC. Anyone who has read the book "The Amature Boatwoman by Eily Gayford will know what im talking about

I am an old chum of Dave Blagrove..... :D
-
What a small world.
I know David as well he calls me the "Harrison girl". In his book "Bread upon the Waters"
he talks about Mark & Dolly Harrison,Mark was my Grandads Brother. My Dad another Mark comes from a line of seven generations on his fathers side & four on his Mothers side all working canal boatmen.

Perhaps all rootschatters should wear a special rootschat badge in lieu of a red carnation then we'll be able to spot each other ;D

My wife and I attended WDYTYA today, and were surprised and delighted to meet you. Again you came up trumps for us.

Nice to meet you today; thanks for your help with Cousin Reggie and the "Old and Bold" chap.

stopped by the stall to say hello it was nice meeting you all
Jeannette

I am back from WDYTYA and am now lying down in a darkened room... It may take a while to recover.....
As for Scrimnet - he was probably the most popular person at the show, judging by the queues to talk to him.
Steve.
-
Thank you to all who popped by...a pleasure!! :D
Steve is quite correct it was totally bonkers...didnt stop all weekend
The WFA stand that Steve was manning was also very popular....
-
"Infamy! Infamy! They've all got it in for me!" ;D
I bet you had a bigger queue than some of the celebs attending.
Dawn
-
Yes he did. Eric Knowles had nothing on him...
Then again maybe it was the queue for the conveniences....
Steve.

Sandy

If you are at Sywell tomos...I will bring them :)
-
Thank you, Hubby and I will be going sometime. :)
Did you have the books I mentioned in the P.M.
If not I have a copy of them both for you.
Sandy
-
Well you got the books, did I get to see the pictures.
Nah. !!!!!!!!!!
It was like being in a supermarket, waiting at the front of the queue
and being asked to wait 3 times whilst you attended to someone else.
After 2 hours in the freezing cold I gave up. :) Got some brilliant piccies though.
Don't do begging and know when I'm beaten. ;D
Sandy

That would be kind of you Milly.
Much appreciated.
