Title: can you find this family
Post by: perth tiger on Tuesday 24 January 12 02:16 GMT (UK)
hi
i have in 1911 william oxberry 41 b york, winifred 40 b warrington and son leonard 19 b leeds. it says they have been married 20 years and have only one child.
i sure william is william james oxberry b 1869 york to robert oxberry and susan penelope lewis.
the only birth i can find at the right time for leonard is leonard sanderson oxberry, gt ouseborne
leonard married annie birkhead and then emma deakin.

in 1881 william is living with his grandparents thomas and ann lewis in york

i can't find a marriage for william and winifred or the family in 1901/1891.

the william oxberry in sheffield married to mary is not the one, he is a cousin of this william.

thanks
 :) :)

thanks mirf for the death and pointing me at the ww1 records.
his service record is on ancestry and theres a write up in the roll of the great war.
there is a winifred burke that gave birth to a leonard burke in leeds with the right birthdate. there is also a winifred burke that can be traced back from 1891 in strangeways to warrington.
the only mismatch is the place of birth she gives while in jail.
there is a marriage for winifred burke in leeds in 1898. none of the people on there are easy to track down in a relationship in 1901.
im thinking this could be leonard and winifred  that im looking for.
