Title: Richard Ward Osborne of Manfield, Nottighamshire
Post by: Shelaine on Sunday 22 January 12 18:13 GMT (UK)
Anyone have connections to this Richard Ward Osborne beyond the 1911 census?
I have found him living in the parish of Shirebrook but would like to know about him.
I may have to wait until the next census release.

The 1911 index shows his birthyear as 1877 - was he born in Nottinghamshire?

Freebmd has a marriage in 1900 to either Ruth Farmer or Ruth Radford

Presumably this should be Mansfield not Manfield.
I'm interested because I'm related to Mary Osborne (also known as 'Polly') who married John James Leverton on 24 July 1893 in Sutton-in-Ashfield (very close to Mansfield). She was born in 1872, i.e. could be an older sister.
Do you know whether R.W. had siblings?

Hi, I haven't been active for some time now. Sorry for the late reply.
It appears you made some good connections.
My Richard Ward Osborne had siblings:
George b:1878
Arthur b:1880
Lilly Rose b:1874
Harold: b:1885
Joseph b:1893
but no Mary. However, I'm interested in George and any links to this Osborne family.
I love the photo attachment. I think there are some familiar features in my family.

Interesting. By the way, you might get further responses if you correct the headline. It's Mansfield Nottinghamshire. I'm new to rootschat so I'm unsure how 'fuzzy' the search engine is!
It would be interesting to see a tree view as I reckon our Osbornes must be related, it's not a common name.
Best wishes
Ted
