Is any one able to tell me how i can access electoral roll records for Ripon North Yorkshire pre 1935. I am trying to find the whereabouts of my grandfather in 1935. My grandmother Florence smith was the only one registerd at the address of 1 Grebbys Court in 1935. She married Stanley Smith in 1930 but we have no records of his whereabouts from then until 1936 when he was comitted to High Royds Menston. A mental institution. I would greatly appreciate any help with this as i live in Australia and have no immediate relatives to this side of the family living any more.

Hi donda, welcome to Rootschat. :)
I've been checking out the North Yorkshire Record Office website to see if I can find a reference to the electoral registers for Ripon but haven't had much success. It may be easier for you to email them and ask if they have the specific records you're looking for:
archives[at][/blue]northyorks.gov.uk (Replace [at] with @)
If they do have the records I think you may be able to pay them to do a look up, otherwise you could rely on any kind Rootschatters who may be visiting in the future. ;)
There could be some other way to access these records, other Rootschatters may have some ideas. At the very least this will bump your query up the board! :)
