Your welcome sajellybeans.

There is also a birth for an * Buckley mothers maiden surname Bibby in 1925 in Billericay.
 and the following births.
*

Looking at the all the births I would say that two of the Buckley men married two of the Bibby girls.

Lyne

* Moderator's Note: details of births 1922-1942 removed in accordance with Rootschat policy- it is entirely possible any/all of these people are still living

Hi again,

A Leonard Buckley married a Lenda Bibby June 1922 in Rochford and a Pender Buckley married a Prudence Bibby in September 1929 in Rochford.

So the children are a combination of Joseph and his wife, Leonard and his wife and Pender and his wife.

Sorry I cant be of more help with the children.

Research Warning ::)

There could be a couple of BUCKLEY / BIBBY  famillies around this time in Essex, I have found one on the census with a Lazarus as H/hold!

As with most Romany family, you have to expect the unexpected!

There is a live thread running on a romanyconnections.wetpaint.com  site for this family,

Santalina BUCKLEY & Henrietta BOSWELL could be your ancestors,
One of Peron's sons, John married Menty LOVERIDGE

in which case you are looking at two of the main Romany family's BOSWELL & LOVERIDGE

There are a lot of Buckleys and Loveridges around Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire that could be possibley be connected to to your ancestors.

I found this on another site
 Buckley - (Eastwood - Essex)
I'm looking for information on the Gypsy family BUCKLEY. Especially John BUCKLEY b. 1886 Kent, d.1967 Eastwood Essex, he was married to Jasmin 'Minty' LOVERIDGE (1891 - 1975)
So it could possibly be Perons son John.

 Hi sajellybean,

Firstly I must apologise to the moderators and yourself for putting all the births on here, I got carried away and totally forgot about Rootschat Policy. So apologies moderators and thank you for removing the info I posted on here.

The info I found on John Buckley and Minty was on the Curious Fox site it is an old posting, but I,m not to sure how old.

You do however need to have a look at these threads on here, they are from a couple of years ago.

Also the University of Liverpool holds a special collection of photos, there are some of Peron Buckley taken about 1928, so you will have to contact them to ask if you can see them.

NettieS

We all get carried away with our enthusiasm, I am sure the moderators understand this!

As you are finding, Romany folk are difficult to follow through the census / certificated system. They have alternative forenames and interchange their surnames, sometimes adopting that of their mothers, marriage after all the children is another possibility!

Hi elzabels,

Yes sometimes Romany folk are difficult to find through the census/ certificated system, but so are some none Romany folk to lol. My maternal grandfather was a pain in the backside to find for years because he changed his name and it wasnt done legally, he was quite a scally really when he was younger.

One of my dads brothers did the same thing and he married into a Romany family  ;)

Leonard ING compiled an "Index of BUCKLAND and BUCKLEY Names from the Journals of the Gypsy Lore Society 1888-1973" which contains "More than 300 references to about 200 Buckley and Buckland Travellers" - I quote from the Romany and Traveller Family History Society site RTFHS.org.uk.

Hope this is useful.

Hi Nettie5 , I am really interested in Esther Coxall Bramwell , born 1877 and was on the 1901 census in Bolton. My family is Coxall from Haslingfield who moved to Bolton.
Title: Re: Buckley/Bibby names

I havent come across an Esther Coxall Bramwell in my line as of yet, but will have a look about.
I assume you mean Haslingfield in Cambridgeshire? If so then I have Coxalls in my family tree as well from Cambridgeshire.

Found her on the 1901 Census it says she was born in Stoke Newington, London, will have to research some more.

Hi Peter, your picture caught my eye . You have a strong resemblance to my son who lives in Lancaster .My 3  x gt grandparents were william Coxall and Alice Harper of Haslingfield, cambs. Are you descended from their grandaughter Elizabeth Alice Coxall and John Glynn? Could your resemblance to my son possibly be genetic or is it just chance. I tried to upload a picture of him but couldn't figure it out.  my line is William Coxall and Alice, William Coxall jr and Mary Ann Jolley, Elizabeth Coxall and George Peace Elwood, George William Elwood and Elizabeth Gilmour (2nd wife)  and my parents William Andrews and Kathleen Gilmour Elwood.
