Does anybody know anything about the Rout family. I have an Elizabeth Rout Everson born to Robert Everson and Elizabeth Rout ~1776.
I believe Robert comes from Bentley - but i can find no trace of Elizabeth Rout or her parents.
Any help???

Can you give your sources please?
Cannot find a marriage between this couple, nor a baptism for the daughter.

The free search engine on FindMyPast lists the marriage of a Robert Everson, Ipswich St Margaret 1765 but without a sub I cannot tell you who to but Bentley is just south of Ipswich so it could be your Robert. Perhaps someone can check for you.
The Suffolk Burial Index lists lots of ROUTs in the villages around Bentley - Washbrook, Copdock etc as well as in Ipswich itself. I found these burials on the SBI, which may be of interest:
Robert Everson buried 28 Nov 1794 age 66 Bentley St Mary
Robert Everson buried 8 Sep 1828 age 78 Ipswich St Peter
Elizabeth Everson buried 25 Feb 1839 age 90 Ipswich St Margaret

Have found the appropriate marriage:
Robert Everson married Elizabeth Rout 18/2/1776 St. Margarets, Ipswich
(Did not know FindMyPast had marriages for St. Margarets, Ipswich - not online anywhere else - and have just found one of my own 'missing' marriages.)
Looks like Robert and Elizabeth both born circa 1749/1750.

You learn something new every day so they say Annette!
Looks like the 2 burials I found could be them then. I wonder if the Robert buried 1794 in Bentley is related to Robert c1750 his age would be about right for the previous generation.
Calvin - Looking at the SBI if I was to want parishes to start searching in I think Washbrook & maybe Copdock - no Rout burials Ipswich St Margaret to suggest the family came from there unless of course the records are missing.
A Henry Rout married in 1739 Copdock (FindMyPast parish marriages) & there are burials, starting with Elizabeth in 1749, in Washbrook

Hello
I have noted the following details for Robert Everson and Elizabeth Rout in my own family records. The Robert b.1751 at Bentley was brother to my direct ancestor William bap.1758 at Bentley.
I would be interested to know Calvin's connection to them.
Steve
1 Robert Everson bap.March 1751 at Bentley. He possibly married Elizabeth Rout, 18th Feb 1776 at St.Margaret’s, Ipswich. Both were single of St.Margaret’s and signed ‘x’. Robert and Elizabeth then having children, William, bap.1779; Michael, bap.1780; and Sarah bap.1789 (all bap.at St.Peter’s, Ipswich). A Robert Everson was buried 8th Sep 1828 at St.Peter’s, Ipswich, aged 78, and an Elizabeth Everson was buried there, 25th Feb 1839, aged 90.

Hi
Just posted another post asking if anybody had access to St Peter's and Bentley's parish records and saw your reply to an earlier post - the children you mention baptised in St peter's, have you sourced them from parish records.
My link is via a Sarah Horrex (child of Elizabeth Rout Everson and William Horrex married in Stowmarket in 1799)

Hi Calvin
I could look these up in the Ipswich R.O. Interesting that Elizabeth Rout Everson married at Stowmarket as that is where Robert Everson Senior of Bentley married his wife, Ann Tricker.

Hi
Many thanks for the kind offer. I have now found some of the children of Robert Everson and Elizabeth Rout on baptism records - Fanny 1795, William 1779, Michael 1780, Sarah 1789 and Thomas 1792.
However I have yet to find a baptism for Elizabeth Rout Everson their daughter baptised ~ 1776? and a baptism for Robert Everson in Bentley ~ 1751 proves elusive.
I would appreciate any help with this.
many thanks
Sarah

Hi Sarah
Here are the notes that I have:-
Robert Everson m. Ann, possibly Tricker at Stowmarket, 21st June 1749. This Ann Tricker appears to be the daughter of Philip Tricker and Susan Manby, married 1st Nov 1720 at Stowmarket. Philip and Susan had children, William bap.10th June 1721; Susan bap.27th Sep 1724 and Ann bap.22nd Jan 1727. Susan (nee Manby) died Aug 1727, and Philip re-married three times. Philip’s parents were Thomas Tricker and Grace (nee Bennett). Robert and Ann Everson had a daughter, Sarah Everson bap.25th Dec 1749 at Stowmarket. Could this be the Robert Everson of St.Margaret’s, Ipswich for whom a settlement certificate dated 21st Dec 1754 states that he was legally settled in Tattingstone. They lived at Bentley and appear to have had nine children. She was buried at Bentley, 31st May 1783, and he was buried there, 25th Nov 1794, aged 66.
Do you have a record of who witnessed Elizabeth Rout Everson's marriage?
Regards, Steve

I know a bit of Robert Everson (b. 1728), as he is the furthest back our Family Tree goes, with his marriage to Ann Tricker.
They had 8 children, Robert (Mar 1751), Grace (Nov 1752), Thomas (Oct 1754, died May 1766), Elizabeth (Sep 1757), William (Sep 1758), Anne (Feb 1760), John (Nov 1767), Susan (1770, died 1777).
I descend from John, so our family tree follows down from there, but would be interesting to discover anything about the other branches. And if we could roll back any further than Robert, that would be brilliant.
We never engaged professionals to dig into our background, these were just records that were kept in the family, and were passed down.
