Hi Dmian,

I can see Ludchurch in Pembrokeshire - but is Long Longstone a place, or a farm or what??    :-\

Please can you supply a little bit more information- years, other names,  what you actually want information about

- maybe someone local will know if you are talking about a local landmark - but those of us who are not local need a bit more help!    ;)

Wiggy    :)

When I put in Long Longstone Ludchurch, I get a Long stone Construction place- quite close to Ludchurch but in a village nearer the coast - and it looks a modern construction!     :-\

Need more information - and I need to know how to shrink links!!!!     ::) ::)    ;D ;D

I tried to link the map but can't  - don't know how!    :-[

Hello damian

genuki ludchurch mentions Longstone.

I also found a Longstone & The Longstone on the OS map & AA map Book. It`s in between Ludchurch & Stepaside,up the road from Tenby.

Hope this helps

Proceed on the new Kilgetty bypass from the P.D. direction and turn right onto the old road towards Stepaside go through Stepaside and pass over the crossroads Mirriston left and Summerhill right past the mile stone and just past the old Pub, used to be the Coach and Horses I think.
Take the only next left opposite the very narrow lane that goes down to Amroth beach.
Proceed north towards Ludchurch passing Kings Holiday Camp and you will come to a non-conformist Chapel (Oriel related) on a cross roads - this is Longstone.
You have arrived.
Easier to follow on Google Maps Satallite mode than just my wording.

OS maps are Ordnance Survey maps - the national mapping agency  for England, Scotland & Wales.

There's a reference to Egypt as the centre of Ludchurch in this article

http://www.experiencepembrokeshire.com/history-archaeology/heritage-pdf-documents/ludchurch?set_language=cy

I don't understand what you are asking in the second part of your question, so hope this is of some help.

Hello Damian
Longstone Farm, Ludchurch  was I believe built in 1914.  Two sisters Laura & Lizzie Griffiths farmed there in 1950's and Wm John in 1934.  Egypt was originally the name of a lane that consisted of 12 cottages and later a farm of that name.  The  cottages have now gone and the name Eyypt has died out.  Hope this helps

My Family are from Ludchurch. My Grandfather lived in Frogs Valley, and I also think that they were from Spring gardens, Egypt, before that.

Longstone is the name of the cross roads there and also the name of one of the farms.

What was your Grandfathers name?
