Title: Spittal Inn Glentham Lincolnshire
Post by: LincsJohn on Monday 09 January 12 14:26 GMT (UK)
I am researching Dannatt's from Lincolnshire. My grt grandfather x 2 was living at Spittal Inn Glentham Lincolnshire in the 1841 census. I wondered if anybody knew anything about Spittal Inn and whereabouts it actually was?

Hi John :)

I think someone has been misunderstanding the census pages.  The DANNATTs were actually 7 pages (and about 35 households) after the Spittal Inn. :)

Thanks for that Geoff. Does it say on your copy of 1841 census the address of George Dannatt & family living in Glentham? I have just looked again on findmypast it it says Spittal Inn.

There are almost 17 pages for Glentham ... only the Spittal Inn has a name.

The last nine households in the census book - although only one of them is noted as such - form the hamlet of Bishop Bridge.

I've seen this sort of thing with FindMyPast before - in that case there were dozens of people indexed as being at the vicarage. :D
