Hello
Other than the original registration of a pupil at school - I am searching from 1923 onwards in the Palm North area - was there generally any other information kept as a matter of rule on students? Has anyone had any luck on accessing anything further or was it a matter of each school holding on to their own particular records as they saw fit or were able to archive. Am I making sense?

School records are often very complete, many NZSG genealogy branches have indexed records..so they are worth contactng
Otherwises archives can be searched online to see what records are available eg in the Palmerston North area
They can give details such as birthdate, address, guardiaan details and school successes..classes
Some are laid out differently..and you may get a column tick of each class they were in etc...
There is also school correspondence, board minutes etc..depending what sort of info you are after
Also remmeber school reunion books, highschool years books etc...
Bye
