Post by: dennis johnson on Monday 02 January 12 15:57 GMT (UK)
Heres a challenge for you!
My Grandmother was the land lady of the Wheel wrights arms Pub on east road / Gas Lane cambridge. It was also next to the Horse and Jockey and McKays also close to Gas lane.
Does anyone have any photos of this pub or the area they may be of interest to me. Any memorys of this?

Would be much appreciated.

Down Your Street Cambridge Past and Present
Volume 2 East Cambridge by Sara Payne

This has about a dozen pages re East Road and includes a photo of a group of men outside the Horse and Jockey public house, taken around 1912.

There is a small mention of the Wheelwright's Arms when the landlord was R.V. Hall

This book can often be found for sale cheaply on ebay (there is a copy on there now) but remember you need Volume 2 (II).
