hey folks, first to say im new to this forum and already people have helped me with looking up information for me, so thankyou guys really helpful and appreciated.
this is the first time thaat ive tried to research my family tree so still learning the ropes :)
Ok if anyone can help me with some information that would be fantastic,
in our family we already knew off jesse steele born around 1832 in quarnford, we have photo's and information from stafford police etc, we then traced his father
abraham steele (steel) born around 1805, and married elizabeth (betty bestwick) in 1829 abraham then remarried some years later when betty died to emma hunt.
now I had a reply from this forum who kindly found abrahams christening information, baptised 21st of jan 1805 meerbrook staffs mother mary and father thomas
I also had other information given to me with exactly the same details apart from mothers name elizabeth... could the mother of used her middle name?
as im new to this if people could help or guid me on how to prove or get accurate information on how to confirm who abrahams parents are? and more details on them? or who i should contact that would be great,
thanks guys and fantastic forum :)

Hello,
I have searched for the Bpt., of Abraham Steel and can only find one:-
21.1.1805 at Meerbrook, Staffordshire the son of Thomas & Elizabeth Steel they had other children
James 10.3.1802
Elizabeth 30.3.1803
George 7.5.1812
You can see these for yourself on:-
https://www.familysearch.org/
When the page opens enter Steel in the Surname box top left of page.
then enter C039372 in the "Batch Number" box middle left of page
and press search.
These are transcripts of the Parish Registers - in your case Meerbrook, Staffordshire there are errors
and it is always best, if possible, to examine the actual registers for yourself.
Although on the Census Abraham states born Quarnford the villages are quite close.
The following site is a good way to obtain Batch Numbers, remember the following:-
M = Marriage
C = Bpt
K = Female Bpt
J = Male Bpt.

Please come back if you have problems.
