Hi there

Struggling to find any information on the above outfit. I have an interest in James GALBRAITH who was stationed at Portsea Hants and then moved to Edinburgh before Paisley and finally Renfrew.

Does anyone know of a good resource/ background on the militia?

Hi ,

I don't have the info on Portsea Hants, however , I am tracing a James Galbraith. Do you have a birth date/ year for James Galbraith? And the name of a  spouse ( if possible).

Hi Lyn

James was born abt 1781 in Scotlabnd (but not Renfrew) he was married in Portsea to Elizabeth Stubberfield.

Amy connection?

The James Galbraith in my family tree was married to Janet Jamieson in Kilmarnock in 1824.  I don't have a birth year for him as yet. I am finding it very difficult to obtain information.

If I stumble across any info regarding your James, I will let you know.
