Title: Dorothy M. Page
Post by: matildakin on Friday 23 December 11 14:41 GMT (UK)
I'm looking for the date of death of the Dorothy M. Page who was married to William Harry Lane (1919-1991). They have a stone in Nobleton cemetery but Dorothy was apparently still alive when the transcription was done in 1994.

I'm hoping to confirm if she is the Dorothy May Page born May 15, 1914, in Toronto.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nobleton, Ontario, that is. I have his obituary from the Toronto Star. I'm hoping that Dorothy's date of death will lead me to her obit.

Have you tried contacting the cemetery for information on whether she's now buried with her late husband?

If your source is the OCFA Vbain it does say "name only" for Dorothy which ties in with the information provided in the original query.

Have you tried searching for her obituary at the Toronto Star archives website, Pages of the Past? Here's a link to their website:
http://pagesofthepast.ca/Default.asp

I did a search for the exact phrase "Dorothy Lane" and there were only three hits between 1997 and 2001. It might be worth it to purchase an hour subscription (I think that's the shortest) to check them out.

I had tried Pages of the Past but searches based on "Page" turned up too many hits. Just now, I get nothing for the exact phrase "Lane Dorothy" and only one hit (June 30, 1997) for the exact phrase "Dorothy Lane". That date doesn't turn up when I throw in her maiden name and her great-grandson's unique name.

It looks like contacting Nobleton Cemetery is my best bet.
