Title: Aston Juxta Birmingham
Post by: wulliam on Friday 23 December 11 08:56 GMT (UK)
I wonder whether some kind person can help.
There is a marriage on the IGI as follows:

John Hawkins married Ann Kirkeham on 4 Jul 1802 in the parish of Aston juxta Birmingham. Batch No. M011682

If someone can tell me whether there is more detail - perhaps parents or witnesses - that would be very helpful.

Many thanks,
William

Marriage record unlikely to have parents names for that period.

My ancestors who married in same Church eleven year later in 1813 only witness's names. Did not state occupation , address or parents names.
Cert did state both of this parish , after seven years of intensive searches, I found, neither Bride or Groom were originally of the parish, or surrounding area !

However, should someone do a " look up for "you at  *Birmingham Archives *, then Marr Cert may offer a clue with witness's names.
Worth remembering some people were proffesional witness's, so may not be relatives or friends names.

Aston Juxta- real name of Church is St Peter's & St Pauls, Aston, Warwickshire. ( Now part of Birmingham)  Records / documents will be filed under this name.
This was Aston's main/ mother church.
It is situated  near Historic Aston Hall and Aston Villa football Ground

* Due to forthcoming move of Birmingham Archives check with website regarding days of opening and times of opening.
