Title: WELLS and HOLLOWAY families of Westminster
Post by: jrg_from_oz on Saturday 17 December 11 07:14 GMT (UK)
My grandmother's brother, John WELLS (Private, AIF) married Doris Maud HOLLOWAY at St Georges Hanover Square in 1917. John was killed at Ypres later that year, without seeing his son John L WELLS, b. late 1917.

While John L WELLS is quite likely dead by now, I believe he had a daughter Barbara who married a BROOKS or BROOKES, and lived in Rampayne St Westminster.

I would love to make contact with descendants of John and Doris. A photo of them at, or shortly after, their wedding is attached.

I have traced Doris and her HOLLOWAYs via the censuses, and I believe she was descended as follows:

Doris Maud HOLLOWAY - b. c1893 in Newman St, Westminster.

Parents - Walter Russell HOLLOWAY (b. c1871 St Martin in the Fields) and Mary Elizabeth.

Grandparents - George Frederick HOLLOWAY (b. c1839 St Martin in the Fields) and Angelina NICHOLS.

Great-grandparents - George HOLLOWAY (b. c1800) and Elizabeth.

If anyone is connected to either of these families, I'd love to hear from you.
