Hi
Is that your tree on Ancestry? If not, there is one on there with this family.
What exactly are you looking for, and what information do you already have?

I'm looking for anything really. It probably is my tree if the owner is kayley Toyer? All I know about her is that her name was possibly double barrelled and her dad had to change it after a slightly dodgy business issue (may be a myth) and that her mother died and she had a stepmother. I don't know much about genealogy yet so I'm at a loss as how to properly search and make sure it's the right people!

This appears to be her birth registrtion - perhaps a copy of her birth cert is needed
Births June qtr 1889
Florence Edith Coleman St. Olave 1d 297
Do you know her fathers name?
Marriages September qtr 1913
Florence E Coleman/Ernest F Tipler West Ham 4a 587

I don't know for sure. I somehow ended up with Arthur Coleman but I'm not sure what I searched to come up with that!

1891 census
RG12; Piece: 356; Folio 120; Page 25 Newington St Mary
Arthur Coleman 40
Sarah Coleman 38
Eveline M Coleman 5
Arthur Coleman 2
Florence E Coleman 1
However if you are certain of her marriage you really need her marriage certificate as that will confirm her father and you can work back from there.
-
You do need her marriage cert as the 1891 entry above is not her - baptisms show her as Florence Helen b 8.12.1899 parents Arthur & Sarah - Arthur was a telegraphist and the 1891 shows that as his occ
-
In that case, you really do need the certificate as I think this is the family you have been following on your tree on Ancestry.

born. 7th march 1889
Death reg shows birthdate as 7th May - not March but GRO image has 7 MR
Either month would fit the birth reg I found above

Thank you very much. I'm going to try and find out more from my grandad! His dads side was a lot easier than this! Is there anyway I could find out where in service people were? I know Florence was in service in London but no one alive now ever asked enough questions.
-
The birth was definately 7th march 1889. Had she lived she would have been 100 the day I was born so that's the one piece of info I'm 100% sure of!
-
Re: your question about her time in service.
You would need to find her on the 1911 census and you can't really do that at the moment until you establish her birthplace. So it's one step at a time at the moment
Marriage cert first

Is ancestry the best place to order that from?
-
No, do it from the General Register Office, they are £9.25. I believe you pay more through other sites.

Thank you very much. Most appreciated :)

Never order via Ancestry - they are £22.99 per copy
