Presumably you have seen the 1910 and 1920 US census transcriptions on https://www.familysearch.org/ showing children Wallace D Bruce (circa 1904) and Mabel M Bruce (circa 1906) ?
-
Looking at the 1910 census the couple had 2 children - Wallace Bruce and Mabel M Bruce. Females are more difficult to trace ssine there is no central registry for marriages in the USA.
The SSDI shows Wallace
Wallace D. Bruce - Born: 29 Dec 1903 and Died: 2 Jul 1990
SSN was issued in California (Before 1951)
Wife:- Eva Bruce
Born 5 th August 1914 and died July 1982
Last Residence: 92011 Chula Vista, San Diego, California,
SSN issued: California (Before 1951)
Have you tried contacting the Chula Vista Public Library to see if they have an Obituary for Eva - there is a link below with a "contact us" button Sandra. If they cannot help perhaps they could point you in a better direction. ???

A detailed obituary for Mabel, giving lots of family info:
http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20060406/news_1m6parma.html
Note that the mother's name is given as Etcheverry.
Wallace's death record transcription has it as Etchevary. Mabel's birth record transcription (14 November 1905) has it as Scheverr

Hi, Thrilled with the reply - Sam Noble D Bruce is linked to my husbands
English ancestors thru his ggg grandmother Sarah Larkin who married into Isbister clan in 1793. Their daughter Charity married into Bruce clan around 1830 and so on down the line. I had a little of the info, but you have certainly provided a "feast" for me to digest. Many thanks. Noeline L :D

I am not sure if you know but Samuel Noble Bruce was the brother of the great Antartic explorer William Speirs Bruce born in London 1867 but considered a Scottish explorer due to his parentage

If you go on www.mundia.com, there is a family tree with some pictures of this family. The tree gives a death date for Mariana, and she appears to be on the California death index (available free at www.rootsweb.com.) It looks like Samuel/Douglas and his wife are in West Riverside, California for the 1930 Census.

Hi Daylight, Yes I am aware that William Speirs Bruce was his brother. My husband actually visited the Antarctic station he set up ( now run by the Argentinians). This was in 2009 before he was aware there was a family connection. He purchased a book written by him about polar exploration and originally published in 1911. Noeline Larkin :)
