McAleese is a fairly common name in Antrim and Londonderry and there are lots of spelling variations such as McAlice, McAllice, McLeese, McLees, etc.
PRONI Will Extracts- www.proni.gov.uk- lists 2 (County Antrim) Oliver McAleese (one died 1907, other 1917).

Thank you all for your help,i should have been a wee bit clearer.Oliver came over to Scotland around 1850 with his{ wife ?) Elizabeth Campbell and son Daniel when Daniel died 1872 it said his mother was Hannah Boyd so oliver must have had a first wife. When Oliver died his parents were Oliver McAleese and Margaret McGILL and when Elizabeth Campbell died 1883 her parents were Thomas Campbell and Mary ( IT LOOKS LIKE ) Riggerty on the death cert.Sorry for not being more clearer kind regards firthview.

Hi Firthview. i too decend from Oliver McAleese and Elizabeth Campbell. They were my GGG grandparents. I come from the line of their son John (B Jan 31, 1853) who is my GG grandfather. I found Oliver's death certificate on scotland's people and i had them confirm that Oliver's father was listed as "Ewan McLeish". I haven't been able to find anything on him, but it is a start. The different spellings of the last name make things even more difficult.
Hope this helps...
