Hi Rosie99, Is there any way to get a copy of this baptism record? I need confirmation of the mother's maiden name to confirm this is the right family? I live in Durham and you can pay to view Durham baptism records online, do you know if this is possible with Yorkshire records?

Hi
Sorry, I am not aware of Yorkshire parish registers on line other than on Ancestry. Christenings do not normally have mothers maiden name on them. The other alternative would be to hire the film from your local LDS family history centre though I gather this is now quite expensive.

You are most unlikely to get mother's maiden name from the records prior to civil registration in 1837 unless the vicar was very diligent. Birth certificates from the GRO after 1837 will have it so sometimes it means getting a later child's details - if there is one.
If you live in Durham can you get to either Middlesbrough or Northallerton? They should have the film of Marske registers which you can search. It may hold lots of clues - especially if there were other children who died.

I don't know if it's any help but I've found a marriage between William Lee and Elizabeth Marley in Marske on 28 jun 1827.
