Hi
I am currently doing research for a Phd into migration into Fletton 1841 to 1901.
I would be very interested to hear from anyone whoose family moved into the area during that time.
I would also be very interested to hear from anyone whoose ancestors have connections with the railway or brickyards.
I am particularly interested to see old photos of people or places.
Acknowledgement will be made in the finished thesis.
Thankyou all so much.
Sadie :)

I have three related railway families who move to Fletton between 1841 and 1901 but no exact dates or photographs, only census details.
If of interest, please let me know.

David

I have made some reports on the families but it would probably be better to send them by email. If you can let me your email address in a personal message, I will send them a.s.a.p.

Hi
I am not sure how to do a personal e.mail. If we are allowed to post e.mail addresses on this site I am willing to do this but I I am unsure if we are allowed to??!!

I don't think there is a problem with displaying an email address but it means that anyone can see it.
I will send a personal message with mine, so that you can contact me.

hi all
roots don,t like e mail addresses posted as they could be lifted and used for spamming or worse and will get taken off the board , so always use the pm service it,s for your own protection more than anything .

Hi
I have just started a facebook page for all thing to do with Fletton, my dad and uncle grew up in Princes Road, my nan worked at Farrrows and grandad worked at the brickyards, I live in Fletton myself, and after a chat with my dad about Farrows and a search on the internet found there was nothing for Fletton anywhere that really said much about it, my dad has so many recollections of Fletton in the forties and fifties, and I thought it would be a good place to share the postcards and other links etc to Fletton

Hi
I know a lady that still lives in Queens Road, Fletton - she has lived there all her life - she is in her late seventies now. She also worked at Farrows. I worked at Burtons cake shop in the 1970's and also lived in Fletton. Happy days !

My mum and dad lived in the flat above Burtons when they first got married in 1961, my grandparents and my dad and uncle lived down Princes Road, my dad is in his seventies now, grandad used to take me to Burtons every Wednesday after school for cakes, Rum truffle and a cream slice! I live in Fletton myself now :)
