Hi, On the 1851 census for Berwick upon Tweed, my Ferguson family were all born in Marleybone. Please forgive me, but the only thing I know about Marleybone is that it has a train station and features in Monopoly :-[ Could someone help with some advice on what the area was like between 1810 and 1850?
The father of the family was Lionel Ferguson, tailor born circa 1810, Marleybone, although the 1861 census says he was born Berwick upon Tweed. He was married to Herriot/Harriet born Whadon, Bucks, never heard of the place. Sorry. Their eldest child was Harriet Ferguson, born circa 1831 Marylebone , London. I know this is a long shot but has anyone come across this family before.
Thanks in advance for anyone taking the time to reply.

Hi, Margaret Matilda Ferguson is my 3 x great-grandmother. The family moved around quite a bit, where did Robert end up? Margaret married in Birstall, West Yorks to Joseph Woodcock.
Thanks

Hi
Henrietta Ferguson who married James Dickinson was my GGG grandmother. I've traced the Ferguson's back to Berwick on Tweed, through Lionel Ferguson. Would be nice to catch up off line and have a chat - also with the other lady you were communicating with. I'm in South Yorkshire. would be great to share information and see how we are related!! All the best Lesley

Hi, Thank you for your message. I have come to a complete standstill with the Ferguson family. I have tried looking for a baptism of Lional Ferguson without success. I know from his son's settlement that he was born in Berwick and died there but that is all the evidence I have.
I am in West Yorkshire not too far from Penistone.
Regards

Hi Tina
I think the Ferguson get a bit complicated going further back especially in Berwick upon Tweed and there seemed to be loads of them in London at the time. I've asked a genealogist to trace them back for me as far as they can, costs, but at least the info will be correct
All the best

I found the DNA pages for the sons of Fergus, so I know the male line, but no details of any females or dates. I kept hoping I would find anything about the Royal Horse artillery Tailors but alas so far I have not found anything
