Title: William Crisdie
Post by: psusennes on Saturday 03 December 11 20:23 GMT (UK)
I am looking for information on William Crisdie. He was born in Worcester in 1808, convicted of larceny at Salop assizes in August 1827 and was shipped to New South Wales, arriving in July 1828 he was released into the community in 1836. did he return to England, did he have any siblings, who were his parents?
My wider family name is Cresdee but has been variously crisde, crosde, crisday etc in one branch of the family out of ten people there were five different spellings of the surname, we hail from the south & southwest. I would be interested to see if there was a connection.

in anticipation, many thanks:

Trish

I have been checking my very extensive database and have found a Thomas & Ann CRISDE. Thomas was born c1778 & Ann c1776 birthplaces unknown. There are three children, Charles b: c1808 birthplace unknown. Mary b: c1812 birthplace unknown and Sarah b: c1816 birthplace, Warwickshire.
Could Thomas & Ann Crisde be the same Thomas & Anne Crisdie??
What are your thoughts or anyone elses thoughts come to that.
