Hi there,
I'm trying to find out more about Robert Ransford.
He was the youngest son of Edward Ransford Esq born in St Mary's Kilkenny . Church of Ireland ( COI )
According to will of Edward Ransford Esq in 1743. He had Eldest Son Edward, Isabella, Martha and youngest son Robert !
I have a birth date for one of Edwards Sons - 17 - Oct - 1736.
The Person on the Baptism I found was given as John Ransford.
However John Ball was given "As Child" which I have since found is not accurate !
So I'm trying to find out more information about this Robert Ransford.
I found a record for St Nicholas Church in Dublin. Roman Catholic ( RC )
7 Feb 1773
Baptism - George Ransford 7 Feb 1773
Father - Robert
Mother - Bridget
Could this be then Robert Ransford the one born on 17 - Oct - 1736 in St Mary's Kilkenny ?
This would really help me as my line of Rainsford's come from Castlecomer Kilkenny.
Any Help would be appreciated.
Kind Regards

I have just come across this website with Ransford. We have two Ransford (Rainsford) in our Connor family. Anne Ransford married Patrick Connor, probably in Celbridge, Kildare, she is certainly buried in the ROI churchyard. Family legend/myth has either her or her mother Elizabeth being wetnurse to the Wellesley family.
Our Connors who lived in Celbridge apparently lived in the house that Arthur Guiness lived in. We have been to the house and seen the deeds. We were further interested to see Rainsford Street near the brewery, and found a deed given to Arthur Guiness signed by the Lord Mayor, Ransford.
We believe our Ransford not being of the landed gentry, but possibly a very poor relative of the Dublin Ransford, but have not been able to find much more about them. Only by searching the web, have we come up with further details.
