Title: Music Buildings Peterhead
Post by: anne50 on Wednesday 30 November 11 22:43 GMT (UK)
Hi ,

Could anyone tell me where the Music Buildings were in Peterhead?. I found a newspaper clipping saying that an ancestor of mine Robert Pickard, had a warehouse there. It looks to be about the 1900 or earlier.

Thanks Anne

They might be mentioned on historic maps - you can look at Ordnance Survey ones on the National Library of Scotland website at www.nls.uk

You can also search directories on there as well, but I'm not sure if they have for Peterhead for the period you're interested in.  Worth a look though.

I would imagine his warehouse was in the Music Hall in Peterhead -it was in Marischal St and is often seen in postcards looking along Chapel St towards Marischal St - the Music Hall was burned down in the 1930s and not replaced.
