Title: Turnbull's Roxburghshire
Post by: dlmatthews on Wednesday 30 November 11 10:31 GMT (UK)
Hi everyone,

I'm trying to trace my family tree and i'm pretty stuck on trying to find anything out about the Turnbull side of things, i've got a William Turnbull who I believe was born in the 1800s in either Wilton, Roxburgh or Hawick - is anyone else able to help with this at all? He had three sons from what I can find but there is no information further back on him.

I look forward to hearing from anyone about this

Thank you  :)

Hi

Welcome to Rootschat  ;D

Perhaps with a little more information we might be able to help!
Which part of the 1800's are we looking at - who were his sons: names, birth (even approximate) and do you know the name of their mother?

What is the concrete point  (that time/place/event which you know to be correct) in which you start off with them all?

Cheers
AMBLY

Thank you for coming back to me - unfortunately early 1800s is all I know - I keep finding dates which are late 1790s and early 1800s so that's not a definate unfortunately.

He was married to Mary Wilson I believe and the sons are John (1837), Robert, (1830) and William, (1827). I've got the three boys being born in Newton on Trent so i've no idea when they moved from Roxburghshire to Newton on Trent to have the children.

Are you able to help at all?

Thank you,
Dawn
