I have a relative showing in the 1901 census as an inmate at 602.5 Ormeau Road. Does anyone know what kind of institution that would have been at that time? Hospital? Workhouse????

There was an orphanage run by the sisters of Nazareth in Ormeau Rd.

can you put up a link to the census?

602.5 Ormeau Road (http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Down/Ormeau/Ormeau_Road/1212182/)
unfortunately there's no link to a Form B1...

If I am understanding this right... 602.5 in 1901 equates to 192.2 in 1911. This form in 1911 - http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai002169721/
- I think says home for aged, infir[m], infantile [I think or infants], poor

Thanks Sonas! Poking around a bit I found that 601 was a private residence and 602.1 was a list of the Sisters of Nazareth. Then follows the lists of 'inmates'.
My relative had many relations in Belfast at the time but they must not have been capable of caring for him. How very sad.
