Title: Cheaper Scran?
Post by: Blue-Sten on Monday 21 November 11 22:42 GMT (UK)
Hi,

I've found a load of images on the Scran website (www.scran.ac.uk) but they are £10 for each photo. Does anyone know a cheaper way of obtaining copies e.g. by going somewhere in person or something?

There are so many photos I would like a copy of, I'd have to remortgage!!

Fiona

I suppose it depends on what images you are looking for!

They are all photos of relatives

Don't some public libraries have scran subscriptions?  Pretty sure a relative got some copies of scran pictures on disc from a library pc, but it was a while ago, so I may be mistaken.  Sorry to be so vague.

Full access to Scran can be obtained through the Reading Room of the National Library of Scotland in Edinburgh.

However a 6 month subscription to SCRAN  gives you full access to the images and costs only £10  ... it is cheaper than paying per image.
