Hi
Is this Northenden in Lancashire/Cheshire
Can you be more specific as to what type of information you are looking for?
Bridget died 1927 and Luke abt 1947, both are buried at St Wilfrid's.
Bridget Beirne died 1927 in the Bucklow RD aged 58 and Luke in 1945 Manchester RD aged 77
Kathleen died 1968 and Thomas Power died 1973
Are you saying that Kathleen married a Thomas Power??
If you are looking for help with their ancestry - you will already know that both were born in Ireland although their children were born England
Presume you have looked for them on the 1911 census as it often gives details of exactly where in Ireland they were born. I searched the free 1911 using son Luke and think you will find them in Bucklow Cheshire transcribed as Burne. Luke is shown as J Luke
Freebmd has their marriage in 1894 - do you have a copy of the marriage cert showing their fathers names?
As both were born after Civil Reg (1864) you should be able to find their birth registrations on the IGI Pilot website
A possibility

Hi Carol
I have got as far as my Gt Granparents in my research. I am not sure where to go next as they both were born in the Republic of Ireland.
Luke Beirne (fathers name Patrick Beirne Farmer)
Bridget Beirne nee Mullany (fathers name John Mullany, Farmer. deceased at the time of the marriage 24 March 1894.
The marriage took place in Chorlton Register Office Manchester.
Luke and Bridget had 3 children. Anne, Kathleen Mary and Joseph Luke.
Kathleen Mary Beirne (born Didsbury, Manchester)married my Granfather Thomas Power (born Clonmel, Tipperary abt1890).
Any help would be appreciated.

Does the 1911 entry give the area of Ireland where Luke and Bridget were born?
There are several birth entries in their age range so we need something to help narrow the search

Hi,
Just to help - Northenden is now part of Manchester but in 1911 it was in Cheshire, part of the Bucklow Hundred.
http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/genuki/chs/northenden.html
If you haven't already done so:
use the Advanced Search on the free 1911 search, type in Luke Burne (spelling as found by Carole), residence Northenden, county Cheshire, then for place of birth, keep entering different Irish counties until you hit the right one. Then do the same for Bridget.

Hi Anita,
Margaret Maud Filan (Married to James Beirne) was my gran. Luke is also my gr grandfather. I wasn’t aware of any connection outside Ireland so this is intriguing. My gran and her parents were Roscommon.
