Title: Burial Lookup
Post by: justineh on Saturday 12 November 11 23:31 GMT (UK)
Hi everyone, I am totally new to this site, but it is great.  It seems to open up whole new possiblilies.  I am looking for burials or any information on my great great great grandparents.  They are William and Lina Rees (nee Nicholas).  They are from Kengif Glamorgan.  I think William was born ab 1781 and Lina about 1774.  I don't really have anything further on them.  So any help would be appreciated.

Kind Regards

Justine

Lina REES was buried at St James St Mary Magdelene, Pyle & Kenfig, Glamorgan
on 10th August 1867, aged 93.
No sign of her husband I'm afraid.

You don't have to go to Wales for a death certificate.  You can obtain one from the General Record Office (GRO):-
www.gro.gov.uk/content/certificates/
You will need the following GRO reference to order a copy of the death cert:-
1867 Bridgend, Volume 11a, Entry 238, September Quarter

Hello Justine  :)

You could also purchase a death certificate from Bridgend register office. However, as Lina was 93 years old, it may not provide much information. Perhaps an address and a relative who notified the death, but no guarantee.

This tutorial explains the contents:
