im looking for clara ann hackett in the 1901 census not sure of her age but she married dick reed(born 1887) 1n 1909, i believe she's from the staines area

There's a Clara Hackett (b. 1888, Staines) working as a servant with the Goring family at Church Street, Staines.

noticed she was only 13 and working is this common as i thought child labour stopped by the turn of the century

Hi,

My mum, born 1921, left school at 14;  I guess to be working, aged 13,  in 1901 was not unusual.

Looks like you will have to buy the marriage certificate to find out who her father was. Can not trace her after 1909 in the name of Reed or Hackett?
