I am trying to find out if the above person who married an Alan Cecil Welch in 1954 was previously married to a John Armstrong and her maiden name would be Mills. Her fathers name is George Mills and the mothers name was Sophie Adelaide Unmack.

Deaths:
WELCH June Elizabeth age 71yrs d. 22 SEP 2001 late of Northmead, formerly of North Ryde.
Sydney Morning Herald 25 SEP 2001
WELCH Alan Cecil age 65yrs d. 18 NOV 1995 late of North Ryde.
Sydney Morning Herald 20 NOV 1995
http://www.ryersonindex.org/
So, this lady would have been born 1930 so too young to be marrying in 1941 as per your other thread.

NSW BDM definitely show June as Armstrong for the marriage. She is not listed as MILLS in 1943 at the same address as Sophie (NSW). I found her listed as ARMSTRONG in 1954 (district of Watson, sub district Kensington) as a dressmaker which is the same occupation as her later entry as WELCH. The other Armstrong's at the same address might have been her in-laws but there was not a John.
Electoral rolls show Sophie at Kyneton (Victoria) in 1914 just 2 years prior to her marriage. Then there is a gap all the way til 1943 in NSW so maybe June's birth and marriage (to Armstrong) might have been in SA which is where Sophie was born in 1890 although Sophie's parents, Charles UNMACK (a butcher) and Lillie/Lilly/Lily Elizabeth FRY had their marriage registered in Victoria that same year. The 5 children born after Sophie were all registered in Bendigo.
Sophie is not on electoral rolls after 1963 and there is a possible death registered at Sutherland NSW for 1965 - parents not named and only as Sophie MILLS. In the 1943 and 1954 rolls she is the only MILLS listed at her address. There is a George MILLS listed with her in 1949 and 1958 but unknown if he is the husband or maybe a son. In 1963 she is alone again. George's name is too common to determine his death. You would need to purchase the marriage certificate to have a chance of determining his DOB and parents.
If Charles UNMACK was in fact Charles Julius then his death was registered at Bendigo in 1917. Lily/Lilly was still registered at Bendigo in 1914 then a gap til 1930 when she is found in Sydney with her son, Julius Harold (he died 1967 St Leonards NSW). She is not registered after 1933. Found what could be her death but as Elizabeth J UNMACK in Nth Sydney in 1935. This shows the parents as William and Amelia, so going back to birth indexes there is a birth for an Elizabeth Jane FRY 1868 Kangarilla, SA to William FRY and Amelia PEDLER. So maybe Lily was just a nickname?
Unfortunately none of this actually helps you find June's marriage to John ARMSTRONG but a bit extra for her background doesn't hurt.
Hope this helps rather than hinders!

You omitted John Armstrong's surname TURNER
From linked thread....
I am trying to find if a June Lillian Turner (nee Mills) married to John Armstrong Turner had any children. They were married in 1942 at Nth Sydney and lived in or around Rose Bay. John was in the Airforce in WW11 came out in 1945. He was born in the Hunter Valley. June was born in Box Hill Victoria her parents were Sophie Adelaide Mills (nee Unmack) her father George Mills. They came from Bendigo. June's grandmother was Lily Unmack, her uncles were Charles, Jules & Harry.
I have searched news papers BDM for both NSW and Victoria and I am unable to find anything further. The only thing I could find was at least I think Sophie's Death Notice she died in the Sutherland Hospital in Carringbah and was buried as a pauper. It all seems quite strange. They seem to have disapearred. If anyone can be of any assistance to me I would be most grateful. I would love to hear from someone that may have known them or family that is still alive. My grandfather was Charles Unmack. June is a second cousin.

June Lillian TURNER was living in Armidale NSW with John Armstrong TURNER, salesman, in 1958.
John died in Adelaide in 1963 with status divorced. [info on linked thread]

Yes June Elizabeth Turner is correct not Welch. She married John Armstrong Turner in 1942 in Nth Sydney.
She lived in Armidale in NSW and John died in SA 1963. I am trying to find out if infact June is still alive or if she remarried, secondly did they have any children.
Sophie Mills died in Sutherland hospital on the death certificate it does not show her husband George or any other family.
On the marriage certificate for Sophie and George it shows his father as being deceased (Alfred John Mills) possibly died 1903 his mother being Maria McNamara died in 1929.
It is quite a mystery as to where they were and if June is still alive etc.
Lily Unmack (Elizabeth) did die in Nth Sydney. Lily and Charles Unmack lived at 176 Williamson St Bendigo. Charles Julias was his father. Charles died in 1917. I believe after he died they may have moved onto Sydney from what my grandmother told me.

If June was aka June Lillian per last reply by Cando (1963) then she may have gone to SA as well so good luck finding anything there (ultra privacy regs apparently). The only other June Lillian TURNER doesn't reappear in NSW until 1980 and a completely different location.
Have you purchased John's d/c as it might give details for any children.

On the marriage certificate for Sophie and George it shows his father as being deceased (Alfred John Mills) possibly died 1903 his mother being Maria McNamara died in 1929.
George MILLS born 1885 Sandhurst/Sandridge Victoria to Alfred John MILLS and Marla (Maria?) McNAMARA regn #13505.
1903 electoral roll has Alfred John, Maria and Kate MILLS at Lucan St, Bendigo. Alfred was a cooper.
1909 shows Maria, Arthur Thomas, George, Kate and Mary still at Lucan St.
1914 shows Maria and Kate at 30 Lucan St.
1919 and 1924 shows as above but also Arthur Thomas and Mary next door at 28.
There was a birth for Alfred John MILLS 1863 at Sandhurst reg #10516 to Alfred John MILLS and Honora MULCARE. They married 1858 reg #1981.
Honora Agnes MILLS nee MULCARE died 1874 Victoria reg #2943.
Alfred snr died 9 April 1903 at Bendigo aged 75. See Trove article:
http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/9800722?searchTerm=%22alfred%20john%20mills%22&searchLimits=sortby=dateAsc
Alfred jnr married Maria McNAMARA 1875 reg #3097.
That's about it!

Sandra that isn't the way rootschat works. I am not particularly messaging you. I am also replying to her original query and I am not sending you a message. I quoted your post in which you suggested that the John's death certificate might give details for her children....I responded with the information that would be available on a 1963 certificate.
I have also suggested that the OP contact the state library. I can see no reason for pm'ing this information. Any forum member is welcome to join in the search and help the OP. It is far better to keep all information on the board. It makes it difficult for other members who are interested and my wish to participate and may possible cause duplicate searching.
Cheers
