Title: Parish of Newchills?
Post by: Ronnie6492 on Tuesday 08 November 11 18:33 GMT (UK)
Hi, can anyone shed any light on this parish?  I have a marriage between Joseph Bramall and Elizabeth Clayton in Bredbury on 11th June 1872. The bride was of 'this parish' but the groom was of the 'parish of Newchills' - it is fairly clear but I am not very familiar with the region and haven't found it by searching on-line. Any help would be much appreciated,

thanks alot,  Ronnie

Perhaps New Mills in Derbyshire, about 8 miles from Bredbury?

Hi- yes that certainly is possible. What I took as the ch could be a capital M and they later had a son Ernest born in Derbyshire - so thanks so much, I reckon you are right.

thanks
