Title: Marriage certificates shrewsbury
Post by: sonic on Monday 07 November 11 23:49 GMT (UK)
Apologies if I've posted this in the wrong board

Is it possible to view marriage certificates in Shrewsbury?

I know if I buy the certificate it will give me the info I require (name of the father of the groom) but wondered if the certificates could be viewed (on fische or something) at the record office in Shrewsbury?

Thanks in advance for any advice  :)

If you know the name of the church where the marriage took place - you can view the entry in the parish records

If you don't know the church - you would have to search through every church in the area covered by the registration district

If it was registered in the Shrewsbury RD - see link below for coverage - it's a long list!

Thanks for the quick reply.

I'm not sure of the church, all I've got is - Atcham, Dec 1919 (so presume it could be any date in Oct/Nov/Dec), and the bride and grooms name.

Think I'm going to have to order the certificate  ;)

Thanks  :)
