Hi Robert,
Are you looking to go backwards with Georges Ancestry or info of his Marriage/Children etc?
(We cant trace living people on Rootshchat)

Georges Birth is Reg as you say 1916, Middlesbro, Mothers maiden name BOND
There is also a Evelyn F E B GORE Reg Sept 1913, Bristol with Mother BOND

Possible Marriage;
GORE, Francis George, Sept 1907, Bristol, 6a 417
On the same page is Eliza Ann BOND

1901 Census has a Francis G Gore, age 21, born Wiveliscombe, Somerset, living in Bristol, Glous, with his Widowed Mother Sarah R. Several other Siblings at home.
RG13/2364/39/23

Then there is a George E GORE Marriage to a Edith BOND, Dec 1914, West Derby, 8b 667

So 2 possibles for George 1916's Parents.
You really need his M/C and Birth Cert to confirm any other info if reseraching further back is what you want..

Hi Trish,
   Many thanks for that. I am interested in George only and the possibility that he was married and may have had offspring. His mothers name was Edith Bond.
   I did find a gravestone on which the family names are given, that stone is in Lairg, Sutherland; quite a leap from Edinburgh.
   My personal interest in this family lay with his brother killed during WW2. I am putting out feelers for an acquaintance who is about to place a plaque to one of the family. He needs to know if there is a possibility of family relatives.
   As George died in Edinburgh I put it on here, maybe I should have placed it in the Sutherland section.

                Many thanks and best wishes.
                          Robert.
