Does anyone have any information on a marriage which took place in Fareham in 1910 between Charlotte Elford and Joseph Titmus? I believe Charlotte may be a niece of my ancestor, Charlotte Huntley, nee Pharoah - I found her on the 1911 census under Charlotte Litmus. If anyone has any information I would be very gratedful. Thanks.

1871c has sisters Agnes B (1859) & Charlotte E T(P)haroah together with parents Richard S & Eliza J living in Portsea Hampshire
I think you may need to purchase Charlotte's marriage certificate to Joseph to confirm father’s name and hopefully this may connect to your ancestor Charlotte Huntley nee Pharoah

Thank you so much for the information - Charlotte Titmus was in fact a mental nurse so I would assume that is her in the 1901 census.
If her maiden name is confirmed as Eldon then she is definitely the right person. I cannot find proof of Charlotte Pharoah's birth (1856) to confirm her mother's name, although I am fairly sure it is Eliza Bowers. However if Charlotte Titmus (Charlotte P's niece) turns out to be the daughter of Agnes Benham Pharoah and William Elford then Charlotte P and Agnes are indeed sisters and it will be a major breakthrough.
As you said I think I will have to purchase the marriage certificate.
Thanks again.

Mmm….no middle name when she married Sep 1876 Portsea Charlotte Pharoah to Alfred Huntley - Do you have the marriage certificate to confirm her father's name?
Could this be her birth entry

Thanks so much for the extra information - I do have the marriage certificate and Charlotte's father is just given as Richard Pharoah, carpenter, again no middle initials and a different trade.
However, the address of 206 Sultan Road is correct which means that Charlotte Ellen is indeed the correct person - I had thought that Richard Jabez Pharoah was probably her father but until now had no evidence to back it up.
I can now send for the birth and death certificates with confidence they are for the right person.
Can you tell me where you got the information on the probate from please?
Thanks again for helping me out - it has been a stumbling block for a while - it's great to eventually get past it.

Thanks for the information = I think Richard Pharoah was a master of all trades - doing whichever job he could get!
It's certainly an interesting family. Thanks again for your help.
