Could someone please look up the family of Robert & Charity Miller in the 1841 & 1851 census.
They should be in Beulieau Rails in Boldre parish and should have at least one child - William Henry Miller, who was born in 1837.
Many thanks

Hi Michael,
Are you still looking for this information? Is there anything you can add which may make searching easier?

Hi Nell,
I am still searching for them in 1841.
I have managed to find Robert in Surrey (Tooting) in 1851 with 3 children - Harriot 17 b Brockenhurst. William 13 b Boldre & Robert 6 b Tooting. Robert Snr is listed as a Police Constable.

Was Robert born 1800, the son of George and Lydia?
-
thanks for the reply - In the 1851 census Robert is 49 years old (born in Boldre), so would have been born in 1800/1801. I am not sure of his parents. Were George & Lydia from Boldre ?

George and Lydia were living at Beaulieu Rails with their 7 children plus one from her first marriage . They were dissenters. Lydia is mentioned in this fascinating article by Jude James
which includes a photo of their house.

Thankyou for the reply.
it certainly looks like the right family. In the article Lydia Miller is mentioned in the same line as Charity West (she had died by 1851), who married Robert. Their son William Henry Miller was born in Beaulieu Rails.
Have you found them on the 1841 census ?

Sorry, haven't got access to 1841 census for Hampshire. My ancestors were living in Beaulieu Rails at the same time as George and Lydia but had moved by 1841.
