Title: 1911 Census availability
Post by: greentrad on Saturday 29 October 11 09:46 BST (UK)
Quote:" FindMyPast has an exclusive license to host the images of the 1911 for a limited period.  The index and the online transcriptions on that site are subject to copyright."
When does this exclusive licence come to an end please?

See Point 2 in this FOI response.

As the census raw document images are now available and being actively transcribed by at least two other companies, I'd say that any so-called exclusivity was over.

I welcome the opportunity to find my relations using other transcriptions as I have never had much success with the original host's indexing and spelling.
