Able moses Butterworth Bell was married in Ballery India.
His rank on the wedding list is farrier 3rd LC.
It doesn't have his regiment though?

Reckon that would be 3rd Light Cavalry?

If it was the 3rd Bengal Light Cavalry, then they were part of the Mutiny of 1857, Meerut.
Or it could be the 3rd Bombay Light Cavalry.

Rather depends on which Army he signed up to? Bengal or Bombay - the British Army only took over after the Mutiny.

Hi - Abel Moses is a relation of mine too.

I had understood he was in the 3rd Light Cavalry, and probably like his dad he just went under the name Bell.  I think the hyphen is a later adaptation.
