Hi
Does anyone know of an index for Stockbrokers in the City of London?
My Grandfather worked in the same firm for 50 years!!
About 1880 to 1930.
Thank you

Hi Winny
Is it one firm in particular that you require imfomation on? If so what is it and what info do you already have.
I have not found a online index of stockbrokers in the 1900's, you may find a named stockbroker in the trade and professional directories of the time.
There is also the Guildhall Library if you are based in London. This link will take you to thier website.

Thanks for replying Peter.
Sorry to say I dont know the name of the firm. :(
I dont even know if JOHN CARDY, my grandfather, was chartered. I know he ended up as 'Manager'. (The words of my grandmother in a newspaper clipping)
I am in Australia. I will look at the website you kindly sent me
Thanks again
