Title: Burial Look Up - Cardiff or Tonyrefail
Post by: GRFK on Thursday 27 October 11 12:28 BST (UK)
I have been trying for some time to find out where my great grandfather was buried. His name was Joseph Fortt and he died aged 69 in Oct - Dec 1925 in Pontypridd. The last known place he was living was in Tonyrefail in 1911. However, he may have lived in Cardiff at the time of death. I know that his wife who died many years later in Cardiff is buried in Trane cemetery, but I was told that there is no record of her husband being buried there.

Can anyone help?

Thank you Ambers, I will try them. I have previously tried some contacts in Tonyrefail with no success, but not that forum. Thanks again.

You deserve it Steve ;D

Considering that your site is not really a Family history one, I was really impressed with the information that you gave me. ;)

GRFK, I see your post is 3 years old, but I hope you are still researching this.

I am also researching the background of Joseph Fortt in South Wales - though I'm afraid I can't help with his burial place.

My aunt Winifred Mary b Cardiff 1918 was brought up by a Joseph Fortt and family - she lived in Pontypridd and Cardiff before emigrating to Australia in the early 1950's.

Do you know from your family members if "your" Joseph (Henry ??) Fortt was the father in her foster family ??

Any help greatly appreciated.
