I'm unsure whether or not Sheffield comes under West Riding but here goes............. :-\
George Wragg married Annie Gertrude Milner in 1896 in Sheffield and I'm trying to trace their respective ancestors. George was born about 1870 and Annie about 1871, I believe both were born in Sheffield, however I don't have their parent's names.
They had a son, Harry, born about 1899. First, can anyone help me with the 1901 census record which will hopefully confirm when and where George and Annie were born. Armed with this I want to go back to 1891 and 1881 and with fingers crossed this will identify both of them with their respective parents.

Might be that Harry was Charles H - parents names are correct.
George Wragg 31 Head born Sheffield: a File Hardener
Annie G Wragg 31 Wife ditto
Charles H Wragg 2 son ditto

There's a couple of GWs born at the right sort of time in the Sheffield / Nether Hallam area - would be best to get their Marriage Certificate to show Father's names.
Here's Annie Gertrude Milner with her family back in 1871:-
Sarah Eyre 57 (Widow) Head born Lancs, Stallybridge : a Monthly Nurse
Henry Milner 41 Son in Law born Sheffield: a Spring Knife Cutler
Sarah Ann Milner 34 Daughter (of Sarah E) born Yorks, Stannington : Charwoman

Thanks everyone for your very helpful replies with good progress on Annie G Milner and I'm content that Harry Wragg and Charles H Wragg are the same person - such a birth is recorded in Free BMD.
George Wragg's parents are unclear - a choice of two, with both GWs born about the same time and I think the only way forward is, as suggested, to purchase a marriage certificate showing the father's name.
With your help I'm now much wiser than 24 hours ago :)

Hi again,
The reason I posted the returns was because in 1901, living with his widowed mother Harriet - is who I believe to be the other unmarried George Wragg, born in Sheffield :
RG13/4364, Folio 109, Page 1.
