Title: my irish roots-help please

Hi I am looking for an Elizabeth McCarthy born around 1847 queenstown, and moved to London by 1866.

Also john sullivan of cork. family moved to wapping london around 1840. this john was a member of  the irish band that was connected with St Patricks church, tower hill, the band used to form up at the "all english martys" prescott street off leman street. any beels ringing??? denise

I have just found this message so apologies for lateness of response.

I have a John Sullivan born about 1834 in Cork who was my GGGf married Cather(i)ne b 1840 Bermondsey.
They were living in Bermondsey in 1859. You say the family moved to London around 1840 so he would have been about 7 years old then - do you thing this is him? If so I can give you details from then to present day as I have not been able to get any further back.

apologies for not replying sooner. as far as i know my john was in the whitechapel area he had a daughter, alice. cheers denise
