Here's a couple of links to books you can download about the genealogy of the brigade.

I recommend downloading in PDF on the left of the screen.

Hi MacGearailt, i've just seen your post being of the same interest that i have. In my case i would like to locate
information on the members of the regiments that made up the Irish Brigade during 1750 - 1760.
I believe during this time they 'fell under' the French.
I have downloaded 'History of the Irish Brigades in the service of France' - http://archive.org/details/historyofirishbr01ocal
Though this 600 page book is very heavy reading and confusing.
What i would like to get are names of the soldiers from the regiments that made up the Irish Brigade.
I really don't know where to start to look.
It appears that some soldiers of these regiments were members of Parfaite Egalite (Perfect Equaility) Freemason Lodge.
Though i don't have any links to prove it.
Advise and help would be greatly appreciated

I far as I am aware Eoghan Ó hannrachain is the foremost scholar of the Irish Brigades. He has written several articles on men in the brigades from a variety of counties in Ireland that were in the Hotel Royal Des Invalides in the 18th century. Many were published in The Irish Sword and others appear in various county historical journals which can be accessed online on JSPOR.
An article that may be of particular interest to you was that on The Régiment de Cavalerie Irlandoise de Fitzjames, which was disbanded by royal decree in 1762, following it's near destruction at the Battle of Rosbach. The article supplies a large list of the officers and their places of retirement as well as a breakdown of the first and last names and nationality of the rank and file. It's entitled The last Hurrah of The Irish Cavalry Regiment of Fitzjames. http://www.mhsi.ie/thesword.htm.
I just came across this article which mentions the link between The Irish Brigade and Parfaite Egalite; http://www.limerickcity.ie/media/irish%20brigade%20and%20freemasonry.pdf

Thanks very kindly for your reply.
I'm lost with JSPOR. Who are they? Have you got the web link?
I'll have a look at the link you have given me.
Many thanks for your help. :)

Sorry That was a Typo, should read JSTOR, It's a collection of scholarly journals. As far as I'm aware, it has to be accessed through a Library or university. I modified my reply to include an extra link.
I did a bit of digging and came up with the members of the lodge in 1776. They were D'Arcy, Begg, Keating, Perot, Croly, O'Dunne, Bonnelle, Gallwey, Sarsfield, Master Nugent, Walsh, Chevalier O'Conner, Hemery, Roche and McCarthy. They are described as the Brethren, There's more listed separately. Hope this helps.

Thanks very much for the correction.
Thanks once more for some of the names in 1776.
Were they all in the Irish Brigade or in any of the regiments that made up the Brigade?
You've been a great help, thanks. :)

Your welcome, I think that they were all in the Walsh Regiment but have no way of knowing, to be honest

Hi, recently you kindly gave me this:
"did a bit of digging and came up with the members of the lodge in 1776. They were D'Arcy, Begg, Keating, Perot, Croly, O'Dunne, Bonnelle, Gallwey, Sarsfield, Master Nugent, Walsh, Chevalier O'Conner, Hemery, Roche and McCarthy. They are described as the Brethren, There's more listed separately".
I would like to try to be able to view all the names listed if possible.
Would you be able to pass onto me the exact location so i can check?
Thanks again :)
