My father's name was Donreath. It seemed to be a family name. Once when I was doing research I found there was some Duke or Earl or Lord in Scotland with this name. Now I cannot find the source. Does anyone have knowledge of this name?

Hi,
There was an Earl of DUNTREATH. There is also a Duntreath castle, I believe it is in the Edmonstone family.

See from A General and heraldic dictionary of the peerage and baronetage Volume 1
By John Burke (free on Google Books) that it was originally spelt Dunreath in the case of the Edmondstones.
