Title: my family
Post by: meug J70 on Sunday 23 October 11 11:09 BST (UK)
I know its a long shot and possibly impossible task, but i have family records dating back to 1500's,what im trying to find is any records for the marriage of Petrus Meugens and Alouise Schoepen, i know they had 4 children, but what i would like is to see if i can go back further, and if it possible to find out who there parents were, im sorry i cant supply much more info, other than what i have told you, and that my records start with this marriage, but im sure it goes back futher as the Meugens name had to have come from somewhere, many thanks , John

John,
a hint for you......
you might get responses if you amend the title to be more descriptive, see the other posts here for good examples.  State the place, country, timeframe.  and in the text include as much as you can that will allow us to maybe help.
At the moment, we don't even know what country you are referring to!!
cheers.

hi Meug
Being belgian and interested in genealogy I searched the Belgian archives for you. All data in Belgium that are available online are gathered here, and yes, also as early as the 16th century. But sorry to say, no records were given for the names you mentioned.
What you mean by "bramm" I don't understand. Brabant is a Belgian province, now divided in Flemish Brabant and frenchspeaking Brabant. There is also a Brabant (Noord-Brabant), a province in the Netherlands. In the 16th century they were all part of the same country, one called "The 17 Provinces", capital Brussels.

This is the link for the Belgian archives, but only part of it is available in English:

I wish you luck with the search. 8)

The two names appear in Noord-Brabant, the Netherlands, as well, but not in the 16th century. Their website is also in English:

An idea to broaden your familytree?  8)

That's probably a mispronunciation of Vlaams-Brabant?! ;D
Or Flemish-Brabant to English readers!!

(I knew my 14 years in NL weren't wasted!! ;D)
